Peace and prosperity, I'm Randy Brickhouse-Bey. Welcome to the Healthy Gourmet Coffee Guide. If you enjoy drinking coffee, then let me show you how you can use coffee to improve your quality of life. "Enjoy the fruits of your labor".
The history of coffee in America began in the mid 1600’s in New Amsterdam. It is now known as New York. Even though tea was the preferred beverage, that all changed because of the Boston Tea Party. You all remember that story from school. The colonist rebelled against the tea tax placed on them by the British. This brought about the rise of coffee being established as the preferred drink in America.
I thought I would give a timeline version of the history of coffee in America. This information comes from the Specialty Coffee Association of America. Check it out. We have come a long way since the Boston Tea Party.

The history of coffee in America runs deep and I will have a lot more for you later on. We Americans spend nearly 40 billion dollars a year on coffee. It is estimated that we drink an average of 70 gallons a year. The average coffee drinker in America spends approximately $1,092.00 dollars on the beverage. That’s okay for me. It is a small price to pay for the potential health benefits that come from those cups. Enjoy your coffee.
